Usain Bolt looks set to make the 2017 World Championships in London the final major competition of his sparkling career.
The six-time Olympic gold medallist, and world record holder over 100m and 200m, has said he will extend his athletics career by one year following a request by his sponsors.
The 27-year-old Jamaican had intended to call it quits following the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.
However, he said on Friday he expects to take part in the World Athletics Championships at the Olympic Stadium during August 2017.
Bolt explained: "I think I'm going to do another year. My sponsors asked me to do one more year, so I will compete until 2017.”
