Mo Farah has withdrawn from this weekend’s Sainsbury's Glasgow Grand Prix after he needed hospital treatment for abdominal pains.
The double Olympic and world champion was due to compete in the men's two-mile race, the final event of the meeting on Saturday.
But was forced to scrap these plans after he was admitted to hospital in the United States for two days last week.
Farah is undergoing further tests back home with the British Athletics' medical team and hopes to feature in this month’s two other high-profile events.
"Sorry to everyone in Scotland but I won't be able to make it there this week," he said.
"I hope to resume training in the next few days and aim to run in the London Anniversary Games on July 20 and then the Commonwealth Games the following week."
