Team GB sprinter Dwain Chambers believes his time is running out as he makes final preparations for the World Championships in Moscow.

The 35-year-old will line up in the heats of the 100 metres at the World Championships on Saturday and is determined to make an impact on the global stage.

Chambers, who served a suspension for using banned substances, is aiming to add a second world 100 metre medal to his tally with his last podium coming in Seville in 1999 where the Brit claimed bronze.

"That medal is actually on my medal shelf and it's a medal that I want to capitalise upon, because on the world stage I haven't won any major medals in the 100m since back in that period," he said.

"On a personal note I want to do my best and get into the final, and once I'm

in the final that's where experience will play its role for me.

Clock ticking

"If I'm good enough on the day to perform then I'll be really happy.

"I don't have much time left in the sport so I want to achieve as many things

as I can."

This could be Chambers last to chance to make, and compete, in a world final given the depleted field which is without defending champion Yohan Blake and Tyson Gay featuring.

"This is the first time in 10 years I've been able to run distraction-free. I just want to see how far I can go and how much fun I can have while I can," he added.

Chambers, who tested positive for the steroid THG in 2003, will feature in the heats on Saturday evening as his bid to reach the summit of sprinting continues.
