Mo Farah has told Sky Sports News HQ he wants to move on from his Twitter spat with Great Britain team-mate Andy Vernon after breaking the two-mile indoor world record at the Birmingham Indoor Grand Prix.
Double Olympic champion Farah powered home in a time of eight minutes 3.40 seconds - breaking Kenenisa Bekele's previous mark of 8:04.34 and notching his first world record.
The 31-year-old claimed Vernon had questioned his nationality after he won the 10,000m title at the European Championships in 2014, allegations that Vernon has disputed.
Farah told Sky Sports News HQ on Sunday morning: "We've got to move on, but at the same time I'm an athlete, that's what I do best. I just have to keep running.
"Yesterday's race was something I have been training for for so long. I was out in Ethiopia for seven weeks (doing altitude training) and working hard. I was just focused on my own race and that was it.
"Setting this record means a lot to me. I love representing my country, giving something back to all the people. It's an unbelievable feeling."
The 31-year-old Olympic star insisted his focus was on the World Championships later this year in Beijing, with the Olympics in Rio his long-term goal.
He said: "My aim for this year is the World Championships in August and before that there is the Anniversary Games here in London in July. It is great that we will have somewhere here in the UK where you can have world-class athletics and hopefully I will be able to come back here with my kids. The Olympic Stadium will always have great memories for me.
"As a distance runner you have got to take it one year at a time. As long as I can stay fit I hope to make an impact at Rio in 2016. My hero Usain Bolt has shown what you can achieve if you put your mind to it and I would love to emulate his success."
