Elise Christie has been named Nottingham's Sportswoman of the Year for 2013.

Although born in Scotland, the short track speed skater has been based in Nottingham for a number of years as she trains with the Great Britain team.

It has been a wonderful year for Christie who was ranked number one in the world over 1000m after a series of consistently excellent results in the ISU World Cup.

The 23-year old from Livingston also won the 1000m bronze medal at the World Championships and will be looking to book her place at the Sochi Winter Olympics with good performances at the next two World Cup events this month.

In a sport known to be extremely unpredictable, Christie's consistency has been even more impressive.
