Jonnie Peacock: Stumble at the start did not cost the Briton gold
Jonnie Peacock saw off Richard Browne Jr's challenge in Lyon to claim gold in the T44 100m at the IPC World Championships.
Browne Jr stunned Peacock by claiming his world record in the heats, but the Paralympic champion's final time of 10.99 seconds was good enough for gold.
The American finished just 0.02 seconds adrift in second, ahead of reigning title holder Jerome Singleton.
A stumble at the start almost cost Peacock, but the Briton recovered to pip Browne Jr on the dip.
He told More4: "I relaxed a little bit and managed to cross the line first, but I shouldn't have won like that, I'm the luckiest guy in the world.
"My start is my problem in races in all honesty. I'm nailing them in training, but I managed to clear my head to get through to the end of the line. It was completely my fault."
