Peyton Manning: Set to pocket £12m in 2014 with the Broncos
Denver Broncos' star quarterback Peyton Manning has been fully cleared to play next season, according to reports.
Manning enjoyed a season to remember in 2013 having set the single-season records for touchdown passes (55) and passing yards (5,547).
However, Manning was unable to top the campaign with a Super Bowl ring following their heavy defeat to Seattle Seahawks in last month's showdown in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
The 37-year-old's annual check-up was mandated as part of the five-year, $96million (£57.6m) contract he signed in 2012 after missing the 2011 NFL season following multiple surgeries on his neck.
The examination was considered a formality since Manning played in each of his team's 19 games during the 2013 campaign, which ended defeat to Seattle.
Having received the all-clear it is believed Manning's $20million (£12m) salary becomes guaranteed for the 2014 season.
Manning is now expected to take aim at Brett Favre's career touchdowns record, needing 18 more to lead the all-time list.
