Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson has been using every spare minute to ensure he is fully prepared for Sunday's Super Bowl showdown against the Denver Broncos.

Wilson has enjoyed two superb seasons in NFL since he was selected in the third round of the 2012 draft, throwing 52 touchdown passes and 6,475 yards in total.

Wilson will look to improve those statistics when the 25-year-old goes head-to-head against Denver quarterback Peyton Manning at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford.

And Wilson is determined to be ready for anything in New Jersey by using his time on the cross-continental flight from Seattle to prepare for the clash.

"I was breaking down tape," he said. "It was probably a four-and-a-half hour flight, and for a solid three hours, three-and-a-half hours, I was studying.

Preparation

"I was watching all the clips, all the third downs in the red zone, just preparing my mind for getting back into it, to get ready for this week.

"I think the biggest thing in terms of keeping this game normal is just staying focused on your preparation.

"Making sure you're getting tons of sleep. Making sure that you're eating well, making sure you're watching all the same things and going through your check list.

"We're not going to shy away from it. I've always been told don't be afraid to excel."
