Nick Foles threw three touchdown passes to his tight ends to steer the Eagles into a 24-7 lead, and Carson Palmer's efforts over the final two quarters came up just short.
Foles got the home side off to a great start as he floated a six-yard pass to Zach Ertz, but Palmer replied in the second quarter with a 43-yard score to Larry Fitzgerald.
Alex Henery put the Eagles back in front with a 34-yard field goal, and Foles then connected with Brent Celek from a yard out to give Philadelphia a commanding lead at the half.
Foles maintained his form after the interval as Ertz hauled in a 24-yard touchdown pass to cap an impressive 80-yard drive.
But Palmer then engineered an 80-yard, 10-play drive of his own which he finished with a 23-yard pass to Michael Floyd in the end zone.
The Eagles had a touchdown chalked off when DeShaun Jackson returned a punt 54-yards only for Jon Dorenbos to be penalised for an illegal hold.
Palmer made it a three-point game when he marched the Cardinals 86 yards and hit Jim Dray for a three-yard touchdown with five minutes remaining.
Arizona had one last possession around the two-minute warning, but Palmer was off target with passes to Floyd and Andre Roberts, and Foles managed to run out the clock as the Eagles moved to 7-5 - level with Dallas at the top of the NFC East.
Foles completed 21 of 34 passes for 237 yards and three scores, while Palmer threw for 302 yards, three touchdowns and two interceptions as the Cardinals slipped to 7-5 following their first defeat in five games.
