Cleveland Browns scored 20 unanswered points as they came from behind to beat the Buffalo Bills 37-24.

The Bills had looked on course for a third win this season as they opened up a 24-17 lead in the third quarter.

However the Browns hit back to clinch the win in impressive fashion, with Josh Gordon and TJ Ward scoring the decisive touchdowns.

The Bills had started so well as they led 10-0 after the first quarter, with Fred Jackson's one-yard touchdown run and Dan Carpenter's monster 52-yard field goal putting them in control.

The Browns led 17-10 at the break, though. Billy Cundiff started the rally with a 30-yard field before Willis McGahee's one-yard TD run levelled matters. Travis Benjamin then moved Cleveland into the lead with a 79-yard punt return.

Knee injuries

Buffalo dominated the early exchanges after the interval as CJ Spiller's 54-yard TD run and then Jackson's second touchdown from a yard out saw them retake the lead.

However, from there on in, it was all about the Browns. Brandon Weeden, who completed 13-of-24 passes for 197 yards after replacing the injured Brian Hoyer, connected with Gordon with a 37-yard scoring pass.

Two Cundiff field goals - from 24 and 44 yards - moved the Browns into the lead before Ward's interception return from 44 yards with 1:44 left sealed the win.

Ward picked off Jeff Tuel's attempted pass with the back-up quarterback managing just 8-of-20 passes after replacing EJ Manuel.

It was a bad day for the quarterbacks with rival starters Manuel and Hoyer both suffering knee injuries. Hoyer completed 2-of-4 passes for 25 yards before his game was ended prematurely in the first quarter, while Manuel was 11-of-20 for 129 yards before he was hit on the right knee by Browns safety Tashaun Gipson at the end of a 14-yard run.
