Andy Reid enjoyed a successful return to Philadelphia as his Kansas City Chiefs recorded a 26-16 win over the Eagles.

Reid won 140 games and six division titles during his time in charge at Philadelphia, however he got one over his replacement Chip Kelly.

The Chiefs defence led from the front as they were able to disrupt Kelly's fast-tempo attack.

Eagles quarterback Michael Vick was sacked six times - 4.5 times by linebacker Justin Houston - before he limped off with 1:34 to go. Vick was also intercepted twice as he completed just 13-of-30 passes for 201 yards.

Ryan Succop landed a 33-yard field goal to give the Chiefs a lead that they would never lose.

Succop went on to land field goals from 31, 34 and 38 yards, while he added the extra points to touchdowns from Eric Berry and Jamaal Charles.

Berry's 38-yard interception helped Kansas into a 10-0 lead in the first quarter, while Charles ran in from three yards to put the result beyond doubt.

The Eagles replied through a 22-yard touchdown pass from Vick to Jason Avant, while LeSean McCoy rushed over from 41 yards - with the running back finishing with 158 yards in total. Alex Henery also slotted over a 29-yard field goal.

The Chiefs are now 3-0 at the start of the new season, while the Eagles drop to 1-2 having won their opening game.

"It feels good. I feel like I've been doused in Gatorade and now I want to jump in the shower," Reid said.
