Baltimore Ravens safety Ed Reed will not be joining team-mate Ray Lewis in the ranks of retired players next season.

Lewis confirmed earlier this month that he was 'on his last ride', which as it turns out will occur at the Super Bowl in New Orleans.

Reed was also rumoured to be considering his future but said on Wednesday: "I'll be playing next year.

"No, it's not my last ride. I just bought a bike."

Reed, who is in his 11th season in the NFL, has not missed a start since 2010 and was one of only two Ravens' defensive players to start all 16 games this season.

The 34-year-old has been selected for nine Pro Bowls in a glittering career and was named AFC defensive player of the year back in 2004.
