Reggie Bush caught two touchdowns and ran for another to help the Miami Dolphins defeat the Buffalo Bills by a 24-10 scoreline.

Running back Bush reeled in passes of 17 and 12 yards from Ryan Tannehill, though it wasn't enough to keep Miami's season alive; Pittsburgh's loss against Cincinnati means the Dolphins can no longer reach the play-offs.

Buffalo were already well and truly out of the running - they have not reached the postseason now for 13 successive seasons.

Their hopes of at least grabbing just a third road win on the year had disappeared when they found themselves 24-3 down by the end of the third quarter.

Miami's offense was effective rather than spectacular - Bush opened the scoring with his first receiving touchdown with 12 minutes gone before finding the end zone again on a one-yard run late in the second quarter.

In between Rian Lindell kicked a field goal for the Bills, who saw running back C.J. Spiller gain 138 yards on 22 carries.

However, turnovers proved costly for the visitors. Dolphins safety Reshad Jones recovered two fumbles and made an interception at the Miami one with 71 seconds left to seal the victory.

Kicker Nate Kaeding, signed during the week by Miami, made a 45-yard field goal to make it 24-3 but had a 46-yard attempt blocked by Alex Carrington.

Buffalo did find the end zone late on; quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick hitting Brad Smith from two yards out. By then, though, they were already certain of suffering a 10th defeat of the campaign.
