Wes Welker was in impressive form as the New England Patriots clinched another AFC East title with a 23-16 victory at the Miami Dolphins.

Welker had 12 receptions for 103 yards and a touchdown to help ensure the Patriots won their division for the fourth time in a row - and 10th in the last 12 years.

Patriots running back Stevan Ridley went in on the ground in the opening quarter and quarterback Tom Brady found Welker on seven-yard touchdown catch in the second.

Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill took it into the end zone himself from two yards to reduce his side's deficit to 17-10 at half-time.

New England kicker Stephen Gostkowski traded a pair of field goals with his opposite number Dan Carpenter in the only scoring action of the second half as the Patriots closed out the victory - despite Brady being sacked four times.

With the division title in the bag with four weeks of the regular season remaining, the 9-3 Patriots will have their eye on pushing on towards top seed in the AFC and home-field advantage throughout the play-offs.
