Dan Carpenter nailed a 43-yard field goal as time expired to keep the Miami Dolphins' play-off hopes alive with a 24-21 win over the Seattle Seahawks.

The Dolphins scored 17 points in the fourth quarter to move to 5-6 for the season and keep in touch in the race for the wildcard spots in the AFC.

Ryan Tannehill threw for 253 yards, a touchdown and an interception while wideout Davone Bess piled up 129 receiving yards and Reggie Bush rushed for 87 yards and a score.

Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson was also impressive as he threw for 224 yards and two scores but could not prevent his team from slipping to 6-5.

Bush opened the scoring by diving in for a 21-yard score but the Seahawks, showing no ill effects from the longest road trip in the NFL, levelled things up as Wilson capped an 80-yard drive with a touchdown pass to Anthony McCoy.

Seattle then took the lead towards the end of the third quarter as Wilson was on target with a four-yard pass to Michael Robinson.

Tannehill led an 82-yard touchdown drive early in the final quarter, although he was helped when an interception in the end zone was chalked off due to a penalty on Earl Thomas, allowing Daniel Thomas to grab the score.

Tannehill then saw all his hard work undone as Leon Washington took the ensuing kick-off 98 yards to the house, before the rookie signal caller hit back by finding Charles Clay for a 29-yard touchdown.

The Dolphins got the ball back at their own 10 yard line with just 92 seconds left but Tannehill led his side into field goal range and Carpenter completed the job.
