Brandon Weeden threw two touchdown passes as the Cleveland Browns snapped an 11-game losing streak with a 34-24 triumph over the Cincinnati Bengals.

Cleveland, who this week are set to see Jimmy Haslam III confirmed as their new owner by the NFL, had not won since dating back to November 20 of last year, matching a franchise record for consecutive defeats.

They managed to break their barren run despite seeing rookie running back Trent Richardson forced out of the game through injury - replacement Montario Hardesty scored on a one-yard plunge at the start of an eventful fourth quarter.

It was the first win in nine tries against an AFC North opponent for second-year Browns coach Pat Shurmur, while it was also a maiden NFL success for Weeden.

The rookie QB finished 17 of 29 for 231 yards, including a three-yard TD pass to tight end Benjamin Watson with eight minutes left that gave the Browns some breathing room.

Cornerback Sheldon Brown intercepted Andy Dalton and returned it 19 yards for a touchdown soon after as the Browns outscored the Bengals (3-3) in the second half by a 27-10 margin.

The Bengals tried to make a late comeback, Dalton - who threw for three scores but was also picked off on three occasions - completing a 57-yard TD pass to A.J. Green with 5:21 left, but it was all to no avail.
