The Indianapolis Colts made a productive start to free agency, re-signing cornerback Vontae Davis and also adding defensive end Arthur Jones.

Davis would have been one of the top defensive backs available had he hit the open market, but the Colts came to an agreement which ties him to Indianapolis for another four years.

The deal is reportedly worth a total of $39 million with $20m of that guaranteed, meaning he becomes one of the highest-paid cornerbacks in the NFL.

Jones became a free agent after his contract with the Baltimore Ravens expired and he quickly signed up with a new team.

Current Colts head coach Chuck Pagano was previously his defensive coordinator in Baltimore.

While the Raves lost Jones, they did manage to hang onto left tackle Eugene Monroe, who signed a new five-year deal worth a reported $37.5m.
