Iran midfielder Javad Nekounam has agreed a contract extension at Osasuna until June 2011.
The player's contract was due to expire in the summer, but he has now agreed a three-year extension, with the club now valuing him at €5m (£3.5m).
Nekounam has been out of action since suffering a knee injury in pre-season, and club doctors expect him to return in around three months.
"His absence has been significant to our team," said Osasuna coach Jose Angel Ziganda.
