Mexican full-back seals permanent switch to Tigres

Fulham have confirmed that Carlos Salcido has left the club, with a permanent agreement having been put in place with Tigres de la UANL. The Mexican full-back returned to his homeland at the start of the 2011/12 campaign on a season-long loan. He was allowed to move on after struggling to settle in English football. Fulham snapped him up from Dutch outfit PSV Eindhoven in August 2010 and he made 26 appearances for the club during his debut season.

Future

He expressed a desire to leave the club for family reasons last summer, and incoming coach Martin Jol was happy to meet his request. Salcido decided to return to his roots after five years in Europe and was delighted to link up with Tigres. He helped the club to land their third league title during his first season back in Mexico and will now form part of their plans for the foreseeable future. "The club would like to thank Carlos for his efforts during his time in SW6 and wishes him a successful future with Tigres de la UANL," read a statement released on Fulham's official website.
