Baggies ace back in contention ahead of schedule

West Brom playmaker Kim Do-heon is in line to make his return to action against Blackburn on Saturday. The South Korea international has been sidelined since damaging his knee during a 1-0 victory at Middlesbrough on 27th September. He had been expected to be unavailable until mid-November, but has made a rapid recovery. He will not make the trip to St James' Park for the Baggies' clash with Newcastle on Tuesday, but could be in contention for the home encounter with Rovers at the weekend.

Healing

"Kim is just about ready. He is training fully now and joining in with us way ahead of schedule," West Brom boss Tony Mowbray told the Express and Star. "He won't travel with us tomorrow but by the weekend I am hoping Kim is ready and pushing for a place. "To be fair to Kim, since he has been here we haven't really had a problem with him being injured. "Some players are good healers and get ready very fast. For others it does drag on. It's credit to Kim that he is ahead of schedule and hopefully the knocks he does pick up will heal quickly."
Training
While Mowbray has welcomed the news of an imminent return for Kim, he is facing the prospect of being without defender Abdoulaye Meite and midfielder Filipe Teixeira for the visit of Blackburn. He added: "They are not yet out training with the squad but they are out on the pitch with the physios, kicking the ball and doing everything. "They are running, sprinting and kicking. It's not competitive training at the moment but they're not far away."
