Keeper to hold talks regarding deal at the JJB Stadium

Ghana goalkeeper Richard Kingson has confirmed he is hoping to sign for a Premier League club. Wigan Athletic boss Steve Bruce has revealed he is planning talks with Kingson as he looks to replace Carlo Nash, who joined Everton on deadline day. Kingson is available on a free transfer after leaving Birmingham City and has been linked with French trio Marseille, Monaco and Lille. However, the keeper is keen to stay in English football and could make a decision when he has completed his international commitments next week.

Wish

"I am in talks with a Premiership club," Kingson, who was signed for Birmingham by Bruce, told skysports.com. "The talks are ongoing. I am a free agent, so you will hear some news as soon as possible, but I want to play in the Premier League. "I had other offers, but staying in the UK has always been my wish." Kingson made three appearances during his season at Birmingham and will vie with Mike Pollitt to be the back-up to Chris Kirkland if he agrees a move to Wigan.
