Hibs stopper says focus will not be on Premier League names

Ivory Coast defender Sol Bamba says they cannot afford to rely on their big name players if they are going to win the World Cup. The Hibernian star is confident that under ex-England boss Sven Goran Eriksson they can become the first African nation to lift the trophy. With the likes of Chelsea pair Didier Drogba and Salomon Kalou and Portsmouth's Aruna Dindane, it is clear that Ivory Coast are not short of a few stars. But Bamba knows when you are in a group with Brazil and Portugal, you cannot rely on individual performances. "We have a chance of winning the World Cup," he told the Daily Record. "We have world-class players playing for the best teams in Europe, we have experience, we have ability, so why not? "Individually, we have so much talent and, if we have had a fault, it's that we expect too much from individuals. We can't afford to think 'We have Drogba, Dindane, Kalou - they'll make things happen'. "They can't do it on their own. We all need to take responsibility and put more effort into attacking and defending as a team. If we can do that, we have a great chance."
