Fiorentina midfielder Martin Jorgensen is set to leave the Serie A giants on transfer deadline day.

Viola favourite to call time on 13-year spell in Italy

Fiorentina midfielder Martin Jorgensen is set to leave the Serie A giants on transfer deadline day. The veteran attacking midfielder is on the verge of a move back to ARG Aarhus - the club where he started his career - as he bids to get into the Denmark squad for the World Cup in June. Jorgensen has spent 13 years in Italy and became a fans' favourite in Florence after joining the Viola from Udinese in 2004. But the 34-year-old, who missed a chunk of the season with a thigh injury, has made just three starts since returning to action and has decided to call time on his career at the Artemio Franchi. "I'd definitely like to return to AGF, assuming management down here lets me," Jorgensen told Danish website Sporten. A free transfer deal is expected to be agreed between the two clubs within the remaining hours of the January transfer window.
