Striker to shake off injury to face Gunners

Everton are hopeful loan star Jo will recover from an ankle injury in time fit to face Arsenal this weekend. The Brazilian was rated doubtful for the clash at Goodison Park after he limped out of a friendly against Blackpool earlier this month, which forced him to miss last week's final pre-season game against Malaga. Jo's injury has responded to treatment and he is back in training ahead of the Gunners clash. Toffees boss David Moyes is confident the loan signing from Manchester City will be ready for the big kick-off on Saturday. "When Jo went over on his ankle, we did not really think it was that bad, so we hope that he is going to be okay for the weekend," said Moyes. "He is back running now but is only doing straight line work. He is not twisting and turning yet but we hope to do that kind of work with him in the next couple of days."
