Brazil-born striker Diego Costa has, as expected, been included in the Spain squad for the upcoming friendlies against Equatorial Guinea and South Africa after recently committing his international future to the world champions.

Atletico Madrid striker Costa, who is the joint-leading scorer in La Liga this season alongside Cristiano Ronaldo with 13 goals, had been at the centre of a tug of war between Spain and Brazil as he was able to eligible to represent both countries.

The 25-year-old announced last week, though, that he had decided to play for his adopted nation Spain and on Thursday Vicente del Bosque included him in a 23-man squad.

Costa, who played two friendlies for Brazil earlier this year, could now make his Spain debut against either Equatorial Guinea in Malabo on November 16 or three days later against South Africa in Johannesburg.
