Germany duo Arne Friedrich and Sami Khedira have missed training through injury just two days ahead of the World Cup semi-final against Spain.
Central defender Friedrich has a right foot problem while midfielder Khedira is nursing a left hamstring injury, both of which were sustained during Germany's 4-0 quarter-final rout of Argentina.
The news that the pair were absent from training contradicts coach Joachim Low's announcement earlier on Monday that only striker Cacau is doubtful for the clash.
The possible absence of either player could strike a severe blow for Low after their impressive displays to date.
Germany will meet Spain in Durban on Wednesday, with both teams just one match away from appearing against either Holland or Uruguay in the final.
