Red Devils boss insists managerial position is key

Sir Alex Ferguson has backed Fabio Capello's decision to speak out over the Football Association's decision to strip John Terry of the England captaincy. The Italian "absolutely" disagreed with the FA's stance regarding Terry, an opinion Ferguson believes he was entitled to. The decision was made to remove the armband from Terry until the outcome of his court case in July where he denies a charge of racially abusing QPR's Anton Ferdinand.

Position

"There's nothing wrong with having an opinion," Ferguson told Sky Sports News. "I think what'll happen in the next few days is there'll have to be a coming together of the Football Association hierarchy and Fabio Capello because he's the team manager and the importance over the position. "Without question the most important person at a football club is the manager, no question about it."
